Bendigo’s Glenn O’Shea has had an excellent opening day of the junior world championships in Mexico. O’Shea was the sole entrant from Austrlia in the Omnium, in which each competitor must compete in 5 events over just one day. O’Shea showed his excellent strength in all disciplines by finishing 4th, 2nd, 1st and 5th in the first four events. Unfortunately the last event, the kilo tt, had to be called off because of rain on the outdoor track.

Aussie’s attack Aguascalientes junior world championships

oz1%20copyThe U19 National Female Team started formal Team duties after the  Canberra Tour (7th July 07) going to Adelaide for training and the final round of the U19s National Road Series (NRS –Central Tour).

With the assistance of SASI Cycling Coach Gary West the week was very productive with the girls finishing 1st and 2nd in the Tour and the NRS.

SA.com/AIS has proved to be the strongest team in this years Tour of Gippsland taking out another stage, this time through Victoria’s Nick Sanderson.

Sanderson, a former professional with Pro Tour team Davitamon Lotto, took out the tough stage from Peter McDonald of FRF-NSWIS and Robbie Carter. The stage took the riders over a tough course, perfect for a strong rider like Sanderson.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sean Finning has repeated his stage victory in last years Tour of Gippsland with an awesome show of strength in stage 6.

Finning easily out sprinted break away partners Nathan Wise and Tom Middleton after the 33km criterium around Paynesville in country Victoria.
