Breaking news: Meyer wins 3rd world title, takes out scratch race championship!

Western Australia’s Travis Meyer has won his 3rd world title of the championships, taking out the 10km scratch race. Meyer now equals his brother’s haul of 3 gold medals at last years world championships in Belgium.
Meyer has had an excellent championships taking gold in the individual pursuit, the teams pursuit and now the scratch race all in 2 days.
Palmer, Davis & Holloway secure bronze in team sprint - finish 4th

ACT’s Thomas Palmer, Queensland’s Byron Davis & Western Australia’s Jason Holloway finished 3rd in the Team Sprint at the junior world championships. The team pulled together to defeat Italy in a race that lasted just over one minute.
The women’s team of Western Australian Jobie Butler and Queenslander Pip Hindmarsh finished just out of the medals in 4th.

Grant Irwin has re-payed his teams hard work to take the final stage of the Tour of Gippsland. Irwin easily took out the sprint from Yesterday’s stage winner Nick Sanderson after a fast 40km criterium around Bairnsdale.

August 6, 2007The Feature race of the night was The Veloflex Tyres 1.5km Wheelrace for Div 2
The limit marker was the experienced master Hugh Gray (110m), whilst scratch was occupied by Ben Harvey and Michael Hickman. It was apparent from very early on that Hugh was going to have no part in a 1.5km flat out effort as he was clearly waiting for some help in the early stages. By lap three the whole bunch had converged into what could now be described as a Scratch race.
