A beautiful sunny day was put on by the Latrobe City Cycling Club, for the Gippsland Victorian Schools Cycling Championships zone final at Yinnar.

Over 20 schools from the region competed in this zone final, with great turn outs from Bairnsdale Secondary College, Nagle College, Wonthaggi Secondary College and Lavalla College with some excellent competitors.

With a bit of rain around Aguascalientes the team took the morning off to watch Aussie Superstar Cadel Evans in the 19th Stage 55km Individual Time Trial of the Tour de France.

One of South Australia’s premier races, the Keith Thurgood  Memorial, will be run this weekend in Milang, just South of Adelaide. The 86km handicap has a start line up including the Continental team Savings & Loans, SASI team & Stuart O’Grady’s strong development team CSC Team O’Grady.

Results: Junior World Championships, Day 4, Mexico (WC)

The Australian team added another two gold and two silver medals  to their collection overnight to finish on top of the table in the track events at the Junior World Championships being raced at altitude in Aquascalientes, Mexico. The latest victories came in the women’s points race and the men’s 1km time trial with Australia claiming silver in the Madison and women’s keirin. to give the Australians a final event tally of seven gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
