Without doubt, Josie Tomic has now proved herself to be the strongest U19 cyclist in the world after taking out the road time trial championships in Mexico overnight. Tomic powered her way to victory over the 13.9km course, winning by over 23 seconds.
Tomic dominated the race, leading by 13 seconds at the half way mark to create an un assailable lead on the downhill run into the finish.

Jack Bobridge finishes 4th in men’s time trial! *new photos added*

South Australia’s Jack Bobridge has only just missed out on a medal in the road time trial after finishing 4th overnight. Bobridge (18) finished 55 seconds behind the new world champion Taylor Phinney of the United States.
Phinney blitzed the course in a time of 37.28 with an average speed of well over 44kph. The tall American beat riders from Germany and Russia to take his first world championship.
Australians face tough competition in junior world time trial championships

Australia will go into tonight’s time trial in Mexico as one of the strong favourites after an excellent performance on the track but many countries will be trying to stop them. Two riders (Josie Tomic & Jack Bobridge) won world championships during the track events and will be looking to add another jersey to their collections.

August 10, 2007South Australia will send a very strong team of juniors to this years junior national championships in Canberra including Australian champion Annette Edmondson and star pursuiter Dale Parker.
Canberra Cycling Club Juniors dominate Victorian Road Championships
August 10, 2007CCC/Velo Canberra’s Michael Phelan takes out the U17 men Victorian Road Championships, CCC/Velo Team mate and twin brother Adam Phelan takes 3rd place. Strong Canberra rider Sam Genge finishes 2nd.
In what was a dominate display by the Velo boys Michael, Adam, Sam and several Victorians set a strong tempo early in the race splitting the race in 2 with a pack of approx 20 riders forming the main bunch at just past mid distance.
