The night started with its usual warm up scratch races. The first race in every instance was superb which gave us all a taste of what was to come later in the night.

Junior rider Pete Johnstone has taken out the Rob Vernon Memorial after a well timed sprint over David Pell and Shaun Mcarthy.
Johnstone, who is a member of the VIS, was the only rider off the 6 minute group to finish in the top 10. A noted sprinter, Johnstone timed his sprint to perfection to easily out-sprint the more experienced Pell and Mcarthy.

Rogers joins Australian road team as Young prepares to defend BMX World Cup lead in Beijing
August 15, 2007Three time road time trial World Champion, Michael Rogers, has confirmed he will join the Australian team for this week’s reconnaissance trip to Beijing to contest the Good Luck Beijing Road events being staged on the 2008 Olympic road race and time trial courses on August 18 and 19.
