Rider Diary: Tiffany Cromwell…The Tour of Limousin

23Stage 1
This stage was a 4.6km time trial prologue. It was a quick and slightly technical circuit, honestly it was over before we knew it. I didn’t have my best time trial ever. We only had our standard bikes even though some girls fully kitted up with aero helmets, discs, and time trial bikes but hey we still gave it to them! Our best finisher was Kate at 20th 30 secs down on the leader, Peta was next then Louie, Bel, and then me in 41st, only 40 secs down. Only ten seconds separated us Aussies even though we were 20 places apart!

Results: Peel District Cycling Club, WA (Hcp)

Wayne Thompson claims win in the 2007 edition of The Peel Classic Road Race at Casuarina last Sunday.

The handicap event covered 76kms in wild and blustery conditions and was organised by the Peel Cycling Club.   

With big prize money on offer, riders pulled out all stops to get a piece of the pie on the relatively flat 15km circuit.

Upper Murray Challenge 2007

This year marks the 5th running of the Snowy Hydro Upper Murray Challenge which has developed the reputation as Australia’s most scenic, challenging and friendly one-day multisport race. Centrally located between Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra and close to Albury/Wodonga, this locally run, non-profit event is open to individuals and relay teams, with the modest distances disguising the test that each leg asks of all entrants.

Cycle sports are on the rise right now. Everywhere you look there are road cyclists and mountain bikers, and the calendar is full of events catering to this bike boom. But one of these events, the Coromandel Peninsula’s gruelling K2, is experiencing a boom all of it’s own.

Leszek Wereszka - Assistance Required

This is a request for assistance to find a missing diary of German cycle tourist Leszek Wereszka.  Tragically, Leszek was killed last week while riding to Adelaide, refer to article below.

“Mr Wereszka lost one of his diaries at a visitor information booth in Nimmitabel, NSW.  If anyone finds the journal, written in Polish, please contact the Sunday Mail on (08) 8206 2720″
