McCarroll’s automotive group is proud to present the 2007 New South Wales Criterium Championships – biggest cycle racing event in Sydney since the 2000 Olympic games.
Bringing together Commonwealth, Olympic and World champion riders the Championships will culminate on Sunday the 21st of October 2007 as the combined Elite & Under 23 race is run to decide just who will be the 2007 Criterium Champions of New South Wales in the Elite & Under 23 categories.
In addition to the glory of being crowned state champion in their age category a massive $10,000 prize pool for the Championship’s final race will ignite what is set to be the hottest race of the year!
The winner of the Division 1 race will take home a massive $7000 with the second and third place-getters receiving $2000 and $1000 respectively.
Some ten thousand spectators will enjoy the action as the New South Wales’ best riders wind their way through the heart of Sydney Olympic Park. A giant screen located in the Homebush Overflow will broadcast all the action from the course, ensuring that you won’t miss a thing!
A car fashion parade and display area will compliment the racing action, giving spectators a taste of European-style professional racing in their own backyard!

Congrats to the organisers on getting this event up and running!
I personally think there has been a serious lack of good racing in NSW, with the Goulburn last weekend and events like this it looks to be on the up.
However its a shame in finishes on the same day as the Herald Sun Tour. Ruling out the top riders from Drapac Porsche and I’m assuming that FRF will also be sending their top riders to Victoria as well.

Hi Stu
Mark Renshaw and Ben Kersten will be racing. Chris Sutton has entered and may possibly be a starter (entries will not be accepted after tomorrow night).
We’re slowly getting back on the roads of NSW and it taking a while but promotions such as this in the heart of Sydney and coniciding with the (very popular) Spring Cycle event are making further inroads.
