Rider Diary: Mark O’Brien…A magic day for Mark

There was only one word to describe today, magic! We woke up to complete
blue skies, not a breath of wind, and a scheduled temperature of around 25
degrees. Absolute idyllic conditions for riding a bike and I think it was
well welcomed by every rider in the tour after the past 2 days of hard
racing.

Rider Diary: Mark O’Brien…Remembering a mate in Mansfield

Hi all,

This morning we were greeted by winds that made yesterday’s winds look like a light breeze. After the usual pre race preparation of eating breakfast 3 hours before start time, and packing the bags, we headed up the road to the race start at the Michelton Winery.

To give everyone a nice picture, the neutral section out of the winery lasted for around 300m with a rocketing tail wind, before we were due to take a left hand bend into a filthy cross wind that would last for the entire 144km journey to Mansfield.
