After sleeping in past 730 for the first time this week, the team all  went for a nice relaxing ride along beach road, and quality coffee stop at the famous cycling café, café racer. After this nice change to the daily routine, it was the 8km race of truth set to sort out the top end of GC.

Rider Diary: Mark O’Brien…The last road stage

DSC_8461The final, yet shortest road stage was set to be raced at a furious   pace, with Matt Wilson only 8 seconds off the yellow, and Bernie Sulzberger wanting to win the KOM jersey.

 This pretty much guaranteed that no break away would succeed before all sprint and KOM points had been contested.

Rider Diary: Mark O’Brien…Moving up on GC

DSC_7679Today was the day that all the GC climbers had been waiting for,  the dreaded climbs of Tawonga Gap and hill top finish of Falls Creek. With beautiful weather once more, it was set to be a very fast trip from Beechworth to Falls creek, with a total distance of 116km.
